SIS International Custom Research explored the changing US consumer for a speech it delivered recently.  Below is its findings.

US Generational Break Down

Matures (prior to 1946)

  • Dedicated to a job they take on
  • Respectful of authority
  • Place duty before pleasure

Baby boomers (1946-1964)

  • Live to work
  • Generally optimistic
  • Influence on policy & products

Generation X (1965-1980)

  • Work to live
  • Clear & consistent expectations
  • Value contributing to the whole

Gen Y/Millennials (1981-1994)

  • Live in the moment
  • Expect immediacy of technology
  • Earn money for immediate consumption

    Who told you? If you bring him along, will he make any changes? Where did you meet? Have your bought anything from him? How long has this been around? Where did you have time to compare the prices? Are you survived by a wife and kids? Someone has the climate or estates in planning? Did you lose a home too? Have you considered this? Did you count all of them yet?

    Ecomonics and the male population.............The contributions within ages 18 - 48 yrs in personal expenditures, to prime lending. Everything that sells the dollar as products? The increases is not seen but, spending still occurs. Discounted goods priced with no consumption? The penny to profit or .99, fixed or nonresidential, without a tax?

    The overlay of personal attitude to savings is my problem alone. In compensation to employ a good, industries, payrolls, contrasting views, a decrease or market risks! A service produces something for government. As contributional funds of financing insurance, is another tax rate to sole. Unemployment findings are bad news for an economy. But it reflects or exceeds all disposable savings for all current news and information.
